There are 24 Reception children in Ivy Class – 11 boys and 13 girls. Mrs Greaves is the class teacher and is supported by Miss Haxell and Mrs Moore.
Ivy Class love listening to stories, being authors and making up their own stories too with our small world and the Tales Toolkit resources. We particularly enjoy poems because the children love to practise their rhyming skills. We love sharing our creative ideas by working together to make things for each other.
Outdoor learning plays an important part of our curriculum and is the perfect way to develop the children’s independence and provide them with the confidence to explore.
In Ivy Class we focus on wellbeing and relationships, working together to learn and play. We also develop our self-regulation skills that will help us to deal with our emotions in a suitable way. The children regularly use the Calm Corner in class to have time with friends, space to themselves and to share any worries with the Worry Monster.
One of our favourite times of the day is storytime, we choose which story we want to listen to and love to join in with Mrs Greaves!
Our Class PE sessions are on a Wednesday and Thursday.
Bramble class is a mixed class of Reception and Year 1. We have 23 children - 13 boys and 10 girls, Miss Newton is the class teacher and is supported by and Mrs Mather, Miss Maule and Miss Westmoreland .
We always make sure our learning activities are fun, exciting and engaging for all children. We have a number of areas of provision in our classroom, such as writing, phonics and maths areas, as well as a role play and small word area, these allow children to practice the skills they learn and build relationships with their peers.
Wellbeing is a key priority in Bramble Class, we spend lots of time building relationships, playing games and talking about our feelings and responses to a range of situations.
We particularly enjoy daily story times in Bramble class, we love ending our school days with a story and getting to know new characters, answering questions and joining in with the stories.
Our PE days are Tuesday and Thursday, children will need to come to school appropriately dressed in their PE kits on these days
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
